Lauren Kershenbaum is a recent graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park with majors in art history and studio art. At UMD, she wrote her senior thesis, “Woven Worlds: Ecology and Feminism in Sophia Narrett’s Embroidered Works from 2014 to the Present.” Her thesis and other research have focused on contemporary feminist and environmental art, exploring the connections between them. She has also created an extensive portfolio of original paintings, prints, and drawings during her undergraduate career. Throughout her work, Lauren examines the power of art to communicate the otherwise inexplicable through her exploration of patterns that occur in built and natural environments. Lauren’s work has been featured on ArtStartArt and Artsy.
